SUMMARY:Community Conversations: 6-Foot-Lab School of Hard Knocks
DESCRIPTION:Join us Wednesday\, September 30th at 11:30 AM  \nYou came\, you saw\, you experienced\, you learned! And so did we… It is a new age for our industry\, and even the most seasoned planners are having to re-learn how to make events work. We quickly realized the only way to get the ball rolling again was to get back to the lab and start experimenting with what does and does not work! \nGood\, bad or ugly\, we knew this was going to be a learning experience for everyone\, and now it’s time for us to share the knowledge gained. A lab experiment is only as useful as the report out at the end\, so come join us one more time to dig deeper into what our planners and our attendees learned from behind the computer screens and behind the masks! \nJoin the conversation!\nPlease join using this link:\nhttps://v.ringcentral.com/join/455089118 \nMeeting ID: 455 089 118 \nOne tap to join audio only from a smartphone:\n+16504191505\,\,455089118# \nOr dial:\n+1 (650) 419 1505\nAccess Code / Meeting ID: 455 089 118 \nInternational numbers available: https://v.ringcentral.com/teleconference \n

SUMMARY:What's In Your Toolkit?
DESCRIPTION:Join us online on December 11th from 3:00 – 5:30 PM\n2020 is the year that everything broke… and 2021 is shaping up to be a year of DIY projects as we try to repair a decimated industry. Fear not! We’re still in it together… there’s no “Yourself” about these DIY projects! Let’s come together and figure out what we learned this year and what tools we need to pack in the toolbox as we prepare for the hard work next year. The original plan was to be in-person for December\, but coronavirus had other plans\, so we’ll be 100% virtual! \nWe are actively collecting community feedback on the most pressing problems we need to understand and solve. We will choose the most popular topics and have each group break apart to discuss the topic in depth before reporting out to the larger group with their thoughts\, findings and recommendations. \nBecause it’s been such an exhausting year already\, we want to end with something a little more light hearted. We’re skipping the formal presentation this time. We are going to experiment with Remo as our platform\, which works great for small group discussions\, interactivity\, and even games! End the week a little early\, hang out with some friends while we chat about this year and finish up with a happy hour and a game of cards while we enjoy some much-needed downtime together to close out one crazy year… \nThanks To Our Sponsors\n \n

In this keynote\, Thomas Friedman exposes the tectonic movements and accelerations that are reshaping the world today and will provide a blueprint to get the most out of them and cushion their impacts. You will never look at the world the same way after this. \n10:00am – 10:30am: \nConnect With Confidence Coffee Break \n10:30am – 11:00am: \nLive Polling / Industry Q&A Feedback Session \n11:00am – 11:30am: \nSeven Change Actions:  From ROI to ROE: Return on Events – How Business Events Impact Growth \nBusiness events have a new definition: A gathering of people with shared interests who meet in the mediums where they are. Maybe it’s IRL (in real life)\, URL (digitally) or both\, but people are still gathering and industry research is demonstrating that events are as important as ever. The PCMA Foundation research study\, Beyond ROI to ROE\, provides a new framework and toolkit to help business event professionals analyze\, quantify\, and report on the impact of events — with a novel approach that makes it possible to equally measure the countable metrics\, and the magic that happens when we gather\, whether it’s IRL or URL. \n11:30am – 12:00pm: \nDigital Experience Institute: Delivering Value to Virtual Sponsors \nOne of the biggest challenges organizations have faced this year while producing digital events is engaging participants with their sponsors and exhibitors. Some\, however\, have cracked the code and successfully constructed a model in which their traditional sponsors and exhibitors gained equal or greater value in their digital. This interview-style session will pinpoint how an organization created a positive experience for stakeholders and participants alike. \n12:00pm – 12:50pm: \nConnect With Confidence Lunch \n1:00pm – 1:45pm: \nIt is Possible!  Producing an In-Person\, Well-Being Event in Challenging Times \nGo behind the scenes with the team that produced an in-person event as part of Convening Leaders 2021 in Denver\, Colorado. With the support of the PCMA Rocky Mountain Chapter\, this group of business event professionals collaborated closely with the Marriott International B2B Events & Programs team\, the Gaylord Rockies and various supplier partners to vet ideas through a well-being lens\, based on the planning pillars of Marriott Bonvoy Events – Connect With Confidence guidelines. This session will chronicle the entire planning experience\, from strategy\, communications\, collaboration\, decision making\, overall event design and will demonstrate the processes and protocols put in place to create a well-being event environment. Bring your questions for an interactive panel with the team that made it all happen. \n1:45pm – 2:30pm: \nInnovation and Change: Denver’s Roadmap to Recovery \nJust like all other major convention\, leisure and business travel destinations\, Denver has been significantly impacted by travel and meeting restrictions that have been imposed due to COVID19. With the cancellation and postponement of booked meetings & tradeshows and hotel occupancy levels at historic lows\, the need to significantly pivot to new strategies for marketing\, promoting and selling Denver has been vital to survival. Join Richard Scharf\, President & CEO\, and Rachel Benedick\, Executive VP Sales & Services\, of Visit Denver for an in-depth discussion on the current state of the Denver hospitality industry\, in light of the recent approvals of vaccinations\, and the outlook for 2021 and beyond. Richard and Rachel will share the roadmap of innovation and change that they will deploy to assist business event professionals in returning to in-person events. \nThis event is complimentary\, however should you elect not to participate after registering\, a $25 fee will be due and donated to the Rocky Mountain PCMA Leadership Scholarship Fund. In the event we reschedule the event to a later date\, this fee will not apply.\nThe Gaylord Rockies is offering a complimentary 1 night stay (night of 1/12) for business event professionals attending Connect With Confidence.  Supplier rate is $99.  Your registration confirmation will contain the links to book a hotel room.\n \nConnect With Confidence Well-Being Protocols

DESCRIPTION:RMPCMA April Education Event\nR3 Regional Hybrid Hackathon*\nThursday\, April 8 | 1:00 – 5:30pm\nMultiple Venues and Virtual\n\nRegistration includes virtual participation in MIC’s Global Meetings Industry Day Panel!\n– A conversation with planners and venues about how we collaborate to navigate the return to live meetings\, events and how we can meet safely. \nLearn more about each experience by clicking below!\n \n\nThe Regional Hybrid Roadtrip\nRemember the carefree excitement of a road trip with your friends with no idea where you’re headed or what you’ll encounter along the way? Our industry is on a trip together\, headed down the highway into the great unknown again… But this time\, the stakes are higher\, the uncertainty is overwhelming and we must be very intentional about what we bring with us and what we leave behind.  \nIn that same vein\, we must collectively focus on what skills we need to learn\, unlearn\, and relearn in order to enable success in the future. Digital audience acquisition has fundamentally shifted over the past two years\, prompting savvy planners to actively study how other highly competitive sectors maintain user engagement and drive loyalty. Event organizers routinely analyze these outside markets\, examining consumer subscription models\, software loyalty tiers\, and the way a crypto casino bonus is structured to maximize retention. The destination for our little road trip is: An Industry\, Reskilled! \nWe have 5 stops along the way for R3\, and you get to connect with all of them without spending any time stuck in traffic! For this program\, we will have options for an in-person experience Each city will have 1-2 venues with small groups of 5-10 attendees each. Pick your desired experience and location when you register.  \n\nAlbuquerque – NOW VIRTUAL ONLY\n\nWe pushed for an in-person experience\, however\, due to New Mexico state law\, we are not able to make an in-person experience event happen due to Covid restrictions. Click here to see New Mexico’s Level Restrictions. \nWe appreciate that Visit Alburquerque tried to make this happen\, but in the end could not\, so we are offering a virtual option for anyone in the Alburquerque area that would still like to participate. SUMMARY:Community Conversations: Partnerships in the New Age of Events
DESCRIPTION:Join us Wednesday\, May 26th at 11:30 AM! \nMany event partnerships have undergone significant turmoil over the last 15 months. Some organizations didn’t survive the pandemic. Of those still standing\, some partnerships didn’t survive\, and others are hanging on by a thread. While we continue to sort out those relationships\, it’s time to turn our focus towards the future. As we stand on the precipice of a massive return to in-person events\, it’s time to start having serious discussions with planners AND partners about the realities of these new partnerships. \nWhat are the new planner needs? \nWhat are suppliers able (and unable) to provide at this point and moving forward? \nHow to set expectations accordingly by negotiating contracts that allow all parties to succeed? \n

SUMMARY:Community Conversations: Event Registration Trends
DESCRIPTION:As we return to in-person events\, many organizations are experiencing major shifts in attendee registration patterns. Some organizations are reporting that in-person numbers are still lower than pre-pandemic levels\, they’re coming in much later in the timeline and many are sticking with online experiences as the world remains unstable. Let’s discuss what patterns you’re experiencing and brainstorm some ideas for adjusting our expectations\, our planning processes and for driving more predictable trends in the coming months.

SUMMARY:September Education Event : Reimagining the Audience Journey
DESCRIPTION: RMPCMA September Education Event\nReimagining the Audience Journey\nThursday\, September 9 | DoubleTree by Hilton\n13696 E. Iliff Place\, Aurora\, CO 80014\nPresentation Slides\nHealth and Safety Policy\nNote: Masks will be required for this event  \nWe will require all attendees to wear a mask at all times while indoors unless actively eating and drinking. If feasible\, we will provide opportunities to eat/drink outside\, to increase safety.  \nThe current situation remains very uncertain. Many factors remain completely out of our control\, up to and including local\, state or federal laws. Depending on situations arising from these factors\, we may also institute additional policies to provide a reasonably safe environment which include any of the following (or others\, as needed):    \n\nProof of vaccines. \nSocial Distancing\, etc. \nCancel in-person gatherings virtual. \n\nWe will share additional information during our Know-Before-You-Go email about 1 week prior to the conference.  \nThese plans may change between now and the end of the conference. Rules and requirements are likely to change as the situation evolves. Resources will be added or removed and links to files may change as we constantly adjust to a changing reality. Please continue to monitor this page for the latest information. \n  \n \nPresented by Justin Boone \nJustin Boone is a researcher\, strategist\, and designer that has built a career working with some of the most notable and disruptive brands in modern history. His work includes narrative and experience architecture development\, campaign strategy\, creative direction\, and content development for a wide range of applications. In 2020\, Justin founded Untitled Future\, a story-driven strategic marketing agency. The name Untitled Future stems from a direct acknowledgment that we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. We can only control how we address today in hopes that our decisions will result in a positive impact on the world of tomorrow. The agency centers its work around exploring how brands\, their products\, and services\, make us feel\, think and act—and finding new ways to imbue stronger meaning around those attributes through rich\, compelling storytelling and experiences. \nReimaging the Audience Journey \nThe experience economy was a term that was all the rage prior to the pandemic. This time was considered the “heyday” for events and experiences\, as well as experiential retail. But as the pandemic limited the potential for in-person gatherings\, the concept of what was considered an experience significantly broadened. Post pandemic\, we’ll be living in a truly experiential world where everything and anything can be considered an experience. This discussion will focus first on the human psychology behind why we both desire and need experiences in our lives\, including the functional\, behavioral\, habitual\, cultural\, and ritualistic aspects to everyday and unforgettable experiences. We’ll then dive into the wide variety of tools that planners\, designers\, marketers\, and facilitators have at their disposal to reimagine the way they engage with audiences\, resulting in a more robust audience journey and sustained engagement. \nLearner outcomes: \n\nHolistic perspective of the new definition of post-pandemic events and experiences\nA new understanding of the emotional drivers that foster engagement\nNew tools for mapping a more robust audience journey for events and experiences\n\nSchedule of Events:\n2:00pm -2:45pm – Registration\n2:45pm – 3:00pm – Welcome\n3:00pm – 4:30pm – Education\n4:30pm – 5:30pm – Reception \nSponsored by: \n \n
