International Planning 201: Cross-Cultural Communication

July 27, 2022 @ 12:00 pm1:00 pm MDT

International Planning 201: Cross-Cultural Communication

This webinar is the second of a four-part series covering many critical components to consider when tackling the challenge of planning meetings and events on the international stage. We all experience subtle differences between planning meetings between different venues, cities and states, and once you depart United States soil, those nuances become much more prominent. This series will dig into the major issues and leave you feeling like planning an international meeting is as easy as A B C… or А Б B… or あ べ せ…

The second webinar will focus on developing meetings and event planners’ cultural competence by discussing cultural styles, cross-cultural communication, and international etiquette and protocol. The cost of registration is complimentary and everyone who fills out our survey at the end of the webinar will be entered in to a drawing for one of two $40 Amazon gift cards.

Join this webinar to learn how to:

  • Conduct a cultural assessment by applying one of the cultural frameworks: Hofstede’s 6-D Model, Lewis Model, or Hall’s Model.
  • Determine your international business partners’ preferred styles in terms of decision-making, risk-taking, communicating, information-processing, and planning and scheduling.
  • Follow the rules of protocol and etiquette for international meetings.
